MONICA DOUCET
Built in 1981, by Main Iron Works Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #365) as the Monica Doucet for the Doucet and Adams Company Incorporated of Galliano, Louisiana.
In 1999, the tug was acquired by Double Eagle Marine Incorporated of New Iberia, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Cove Eagle.
In 2005, she was acquired by New York Marine Towing Incorporated of Montauk, New York. Where the tug was renamed as the Realist.
In 2009, the tug was acquired by Dawn Offshore Services Incorporated of Gretna, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Baltic Dawn.
In 2021, she was phased out of active service and was "laid up" at Bourg, Louisiana.
Powered by two, Caterpillar 3508 E diesel engines. With Twin Disc MG-540 reduction gears, turning two, 78(in), stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 1,600 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 40kW generator sets. The tug's capacities are 32,000 gallons of fuel, 400 gallons of lube oil, and 8,000 potable water.
The towing equipment consists of a single drum, Smatco 48 towing winch. Outfitted with 1,800 (ft) of 1.5(in) towing wire.
