Built in 1978, by Campbell Industries of San Diego, California (hull #118) as the Freedom Service for Zapata Marine Services of Houston, Texas.

She was originally constructed as an Offshore Supply Vessel, and Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessel for service in the Gulf of Mexico.

In 1985, Zapata Marine Service, Gulf Fleet Marine Incorporated, and Jackson Marine Services merged to form Zapata Gulf Marine Service Incorporated of Houston, Texas.

In 1992, Zapata Gulf Marine Incorporated merged with Tidewater Marine Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana. Where the vessel retained her name.

In 2000, she was acquired by Crowley Marine Services Incorporated of San Francisco, California. Where the vessel was renamed as the Endurance. And, she was repurposed as a oceangoing tug, and pollution control vessel.

In 2018, the tug was acquired by Paradigm Marine LLC of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Where she retained her name.

Powered by two, sixteen cylinder, EMD 16-645-E7 diesel engines. Turning two, bronze, fixed pitch propellers, mounted in kort nozzles. She is a twin screw vessel, rated 5,750 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 150kW generator sets. And, one 100kW auxiliary generator set. The vessel's capacities are 116,764 gallons of fuel.
