Built in 1967, by Larose Shipyard Incorporated of Larose, Louisiana as the L. Marie for Leo W. Lapeyrouse of Houma, Louisiana.

In 1976, the tug was acquired by L and L Towing Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana. Where she retained her name.

In 2003, she was acquired by the Caillou Island Towing Company of Houma, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2004, the tug was acquired by A and B Boats Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana. Where she retained her name.

Repowered in 1981, she is powered by two GM 8V-92 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.5:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 800 horsepower.
