Built in 1956, by Jakobson Shipyard Incorporated of Oyster Bay, New York (hull #362) as the Barney Turecamo for the Turecamo Coastal and Harbor Towing Corporation of New York, New York.

In 1994, the tug was was acquired by C and C Marine Incorporated of Charleston, South Carolina. Where she was renamed as the Ocean Princess.

In 2005, she was acquired by the Mar-K Towing Company of Panama City, Florida. Where the tug was renamed as the G.R. Gainer.

In 2022, the tug was phased out of active service, and was "laid up" at Panama City, Florida.

She is a single screw tug, rated at 1,600 horsepower.
