Built in 2012, by Halimar Shipyard Incorporated of Morgan City, Louisiana (hull #162) as the Kestrel for Harley Marine Services Incorporated of Seattle, Washington.

Designed by Frank Basile of Entech and Associates of Houma, Louisiana. The Kestrel was designed with a raised bow. To facilitate the option for the tug to be converted to an Articulated Tug and Barge in the future.

In 2019, Harley Marine Services Incorporated became the Centerline Logistics Corporation of Seattle, Washington. Where the tug retained her name.

Powered by two, Tier II compliant, Caterpillar 3512C diesel engines. With Twin Disc MGX5600 reduction gears, at a ratio of 6.04:1. Turning two, four bladed, stainless steel, fixed propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 3,000 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 99kW John Deere 6068 generator sets. The tug's capacities are 48,000 gallons of fuel, 6,000 gallons of water, 1,040 gallons of lube oil, and 550 gallons of lube oil.

The towing equipment consists of a 100 horsepower, electric drive, double drum, Markey, TESD-32 towing winch. Outfitted with 2,600(ft) of 2(in) towing wire, mounted on her stern. And, a Markey DESMW-12-32, electric winch, mounted on her bow.
