Built in 1978, by Sherman Shipyard Incorporated of Panama City, Florida as the Carrie Lee for the Tarpon Transportation Company of Mobile, Alabama.

In 1984, the tug was acquired by the Steuart Transportation Company of Piney Point, Maryland. Where she was renamed as Katherine S.

In 1989, she was was acquired by Links Marine Incorporated of Newark, Delaware. Where the tug was renamed as the Melissa L. Named for the co-owner's daughter. The "L" in the vessel's name, was for "Links." The Scottish word for the sport of golf.

In 1997, the tug was renamed as the St. Andrews. Named for the golf course in Scotland. The golf themed names were carried on all of the company's equipment.

In 1998, Links Marine Incorporated was acquired by Harley Marine Services Incorporated of Seattle, Washington. Where the tug retained her name. At that time, Links Marine's operations were rebranded as Westoil Marine Services of Long Beach, California, a Harley subsidiary.

In 2019, Harley Marine Services became the Centerline Logistics Corporation of Seattle, Washington. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2020, the tug was phased out of active service and was "laid up" at Bayonne, New Jersey.

In 2022, she was acquired by the New York State Marine Highway Transportation Company of Troy, New York. Where the was renamed as the Maddie K.

Powered by two, Cummins KTA-38M diesel engines. With Twin Disc MG 540 reduction gears, at a ratio of 7.0:1. Turning two, 74(in) by 66(in), stainless steel propellers. For a rated 2,000 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two 60kW John Deere generator sets. The tug's capacities are 28,000 gallons of fuel, 1,000 gallons of water, 150 gallons of lube oil, and 150 gallons hydraulic oil.

The towing gear consists of two, 40 ton electrohydraulic, face winches. And a 16(in) stern capstan.
