Built in 1981, by Sidney Henry Boat Building Incorporated (hull #81-028) as the Zip II for Z.M. Incorporated of Morgan City, Louisiana.

In 1994, the tug was acquired by the Athena Construction Company of Morgan City, Louisiana. Where she retained her name.

In 2001, she was acquired by Transinland Marine Incorporated of Morgan City, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2015, the tug was acquired by Ten Mile Exchange Incorporated of Marrero, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Rougarou.

Re powered in 2008, the tug is powered by two, Cummins KTA19-M3 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at ratio of 6:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,200 horsepower.
