Built in 2020, by Steiner Shipyard Incorporated of Bayou LaBatre, Alabama (hull #1040) as the Darrel Hiatt for Maritime Partners, LLC of Metairie, Louisiana.
Named for Maritime Partners cofounder and Chief Operations Officer Austin Sperry’s longtime friend, Darrell Hiatt. The tug was designed by Farrell and Norton Naval Architects of New Castle, Maine.
In 2020, the tug was chartered to the Centerline Logistics Corporation of Seattle, Washington.
Powered by two, Tier III compliant, Mitsubishi S12R diesel engines. With Twin Disc 5600 reduction gears at a ratio of 6.04:1. She is a twin screw towboat rated at 2,250 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 99kW, John Deere 4045 generator sets.
The towing equipment consists of two, Wintech, 40 ton, electric winches mounted on the bow.
The tugs capacities are 38,560 gallons of fuel, 8,800 gallons of gray water, 1,700 gallons of waste oil, 790 gallons of both lube oil and gear oil, 7,860 gallons of potable water, and 33,280 gallons of wash water.
