Built in 1981 by Albert Ortis Boatbuilding at Krotz Springs, Louisiana (hull #47) as the Miss Jane for Sadhen Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana.
In 1990, the tug was acquired by Tidewater Marine Service Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana. Where she retained her name.
In 1994, she was acquired by Blessey Enterprises Incorporated of Harahan, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Lamarr Hirsch.
In 2009, the tug was acquired by C and J Marine Services Incorporated of Berwick, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Seth D.
Repowered in 2002, she is fitted with two Cummins KTA19-M3 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gear at a ratio of 7:1. She is a twin-screw towboat rated at 1,200 horsepower.
