Built in 1975, by the Houma Shipbuilding Company of Houma, Louisiana (hull #61) as the Delta Diamond 8 for Dowell Schlumpberger Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana.

In 1994, the tug was acquired by George McGugan Dredging Incorporated of Mystic, Connecticut. Where the tug was renamed as the Harry R.

In 1997, she was acquired by Gwenmor Marine Contracting of Mystic, Connecticut. Where the tug was remanded as the Gwendolyn.

Powered by two, Detroit Diesel 8V-71 diesel engines. She is twin screw tug, rated at 600 horsepower.
