COASTAL 101

Built in 1973, by the Gulfport Shipbuilding Corporation of Port Arthur, Texas (hull #735) as the Betty Wood for the for the Gulfcoast Transit Company of Tampa, Florida. A subsidiary of the Tampa Electric Company of Tampa, Florida.

In 2002, the Gulfcoast Transit Company became the TECO Ocean Shipping Company of Tampa, Florida. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2005, the tug was outfitted with an Artubar coupler system, and was "married" to her 550(ft) barge, the Topper. Which was constructed in 1984 by Bay Shipbuilding in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin as the Thoroughbred Topper. In 2005, the TECO Ocean Shipping Company renamed the barge as the Pat Cantrel, named the Peoples Gas Company's president Bill Cantrell's wife, Pat.

In 2007, the TECO Transport Corporation was acquired Greenstreet Equity Partners L.P., a Miami-based private equity firm. Where the unit retained their names.

In 2013, she was acquired by United Ocean Services LLC. of Tampa, Florida. Where she was renamed as the Coastal 101 and her barge was renamed as the Louisiana Enterprise.

In 2017, the unit was scrapped. Powered by two, EMD 20-645-E5 diesel engines, she was a twin screw tug rated at 7,200 horsepower.
