Built in 1975, by Universal Iron Works Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #124) as the Nan II for the Bareboat Charter Company Incorporated of Gretna, Louisiana.

In 1977, the tug was chartered to Kings Marine International Corporation Gretna, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Kings Charger.

In 1977, she was returned to the Bareboat Charter Company Incorporated of Gretna, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1978, she was chartered out, and reamed as the Walter J. Oubre.

In 1998, the tug was acquired by American Offshore Incorporated of Stafford, Texas. Where she was renamed as the American Pride.

In 2002, the tug was acquired by Gambarella Marine Services Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Betty R. Gambarella.

In 2012, she was acquired by Offshore Specialty Fabricators LLC. of Houma, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2017, the tug was acquired by the Curtin Maritime Corporation of Long Beach, California. Where she retained her name.

In 2021, the Curtin Maritime Corporation rebuilt the tug, and she was renamed as the Elizabeth C.
