Built in 2021, by Master Boat Builders Incorporated of Coden, Alabama (hull #464) as the Aurora for Crowley Marine Services Incorporated of San Francisco, California.

Outfitted with an INTERcon series 34 coupler system. The tug is powered by two, Tier IV compliant, six cylinder, GE 6L250MDC8 diesel engines. With Schottel SRP 460 z-drives. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 4,000 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 200kW, Marathon 431PSL6258 generator sets. Driven by two, John Deere diesel engines. With a third 65kW, John Deere generator set. The tug's capacities are 81,150 gallons of fuel, 583 gallons of lube oil, 8,168 gallons of fresh water,

The tug is "married" to the 350(ft) by 88(ft) by double hulled, 56,680 (bbls) barge, the Qamum. That was constructed in 2021 at Greenbrier Marine of Portland, Oregon for Crowlet Marine Services Incorporated.

The unit was constructed to Ice Class and Polar Code requirements. These requirements include increased structural framing, shell plating, and extended zero-discharge endurance with shallow water capability.
