Built in 1964, by the Gulfport Shipbuilding Corporation of Port Arthur, Texas (hull #404) as the National Trader for National Marine Service Incorporated of St. Louis, Missouri.

In 1973, the tug sank at New Orleans, Louisiana. She was raised, salvaged and rebuilt by Statler Marine Service Incorporated of Mobile, Alabama.

In 1978, she was acquired by the Barge Transport Company Incorporated of Houston, Texas. Where the tug was renamed as the Mary Edwards.

In 1997, the tug was acquired by the Midstream Fuel Service Incorporated of Mobile, Alabama. Where she retained her name.

In 2002, Midstream Fuel Service Incorporated became the Martin Midstream Partnership Incorporated of Vidor, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2018, she was acquired by Alexis Marine LLC. of Belle Chasse, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Uncle Blue.

Powered by two, Mitsubishi S12A2-MPTA diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 6.48:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,800 horsepower.
