Built in 1994, by Halter Marine Incorporated of Escatawpa, Mississippi (hull #121) as the Robert J. Bouchard for the Bouchard Transportation Company of Melville, New York.

In 2008, the tug was outfitted with an INTERcon coupler system. Although the tug was fitted with a coupler system. Her towing equipment was retained to allow for traditional towing.

In 2020, she was phased out of active service and was "laid up" at Port Fouchon, Louisiana.

In 2021, the unit was acquired by the Centerline Logistics Corporation of Seattle, Washington. Where she retained her name.

In 2022, the the Centerline Logistics Corporation renamed the tug as the Sun Spirit.

Powered by two, EMD 16-645-F7B diesel engines. Turning two, bronze, stainless steel, propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 6,140 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by three, 99kW generator sets. The tug's capacities are 162,202 gallons of fuel, and 8,453 gallons of potable water.
