Built in 1979, by Wall Shipyard Incorporated of Harvey, Louisiana (hull #1975-33) as the Chandy N. for Golnoy Barge Company Incorporated of Clayton, Missouri.

In 1979, the Apex Oil Company of St. Louis, Missouri was contracted to manage, crew, and operate the vessel.

In 1979, Inland Marine Service Incorporated of New Iberia, Louisiana was contracted to manage, crew, and operate the vessel.

In 2014, she was acquired by the Apex Oil Company of St. Louis, Missouri. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2024, the tug was acquired by the Celebration Riverboat Company LLC. of Covington, Kentucky. Where she was renamed as the Lucy May.

Powered by two, GM 16V-149TI with Reintjes reduction gears, at a ratio of 6.053:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,800 horsepower.
