Built in 1972, Nautical Marine Services Incorporated of Vinton, Louisiana as the Coastal Champion for Coastal Tugs Incorporated of Belle Chasse, Louisiana.
In 1977, the tug was acquired by the Touchard Marine Towing Corporation of Vinton, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Eddie P. Touchard.
In 1982, she was acquired by the E.S.T. Barge Company Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Joseph R.
In 1983, the tug was acquired by Winslow Marine Incorporated of Falmouth, Maine. Where she was renamed as the Charles Winslow.
In 2022, the tug was phased out of active service. And was "laid up" at South Portland, Maine.
In 2023, she was acquired by Stasinos Marine LLC. of Weymouth, Massachusetts. Where the tug was renamed as the David Winslow.
Originally powered by two Detroit Diesel 12-V71 diesel engines. With Twin Disc MG514 reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.5:1 ratio. Turning two, bronze, four bladed, fixed pitch propellers. She was a twin screw tug, rated at 950 horsepower.
In 2024, she was repowered with two, Tier III compliant Baudouin 6M26.3 P1 diesel engines. With Twin Disc MGX-516 reduction gears, at a ratio of 3.5:1. Turning two, bronze, four bladed, fixed pitch propellers for a rated 1,200 horsepower.
Her electrical service was provided by two, 20kW, Delco generator sets. Driven by two, Detroit Diesel engines. In 2024, she was outfitted with two Tier III compliant, 30kW, Kubota KK3 generator sets. The tug's capacities are 6,000 gallons of fuel, 4,500 gallons of water, and a 50 gallon holding tank.
In 2024, she was also outfitted with an upper wheelhouse. As well as two, Nabrico DF-1-30-11R-NORF-M4 face winches. Outfitted with 200(ft) of 1.5(in) spectra line.
