Built in 2024, by Master Boat Builders Incorporated of Bayou LaBatre, Alabama (hull #477) as the Tortuga for the Polaris New Energy LNG Company of The Woodlands, Texas.

Designed by the Naval Architecture firm of Guarino and Cox of Covington, Louisiana for the Polaris New Energy LNG Company of The Woodlands, Texas.

In 2024, The McAllister Towing and Transportation Company of New York, New York was contracted to manage, man, and operate the unit.

Powered by two, sixteen cylinder, Tier IV compliant, Caterpillar 3516E diesel engines. With Reintjes WAF 1173 reduction gears, at a ratio of 7.429:1. Turning two, 120(in) by 78(in), Hung Shin, five bladed, fixed pitch, stainless steel propellers. She is a twin screw Articulated Tug and Barge, rated at 4,000 horsepower.

She is outfitted with a Beacon Findland JAK-400PHL-L coupler system, with Hydrolock. Her additional towing equipment consists of two, 15 horsepower, Coastal Marine Equipment capstans. One mounted on her bow, and one mounted on her stern

Her electrical service is provided by three, Tier IV compliant, 150kW, John Deere 6068AFM85 generator sets. The tug's capacities are 86,114 gallons of fuel; 9,550 gallons of sewage, 8,174 gallons of fresh water, 800 gallons of lube oil, and 9,500 gallons of diesel exhaust fluid..

The tug is "married" to the 340(ft), by 32(ft), by 66(ft) 15,400 cubic meter barge, the Clean Everglades. Constructed in 2023, Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding Incorporated of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin for for the Polaris New Energy LNG Company of The Woodlands, Texas.
