Built in 1964, by Main Iron Works Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #130) as the Point Comfort for the Harbor Docking and Towing Company of Lake Charles, Louisiana.

In 2003, the Harbor Docking and Towing Company renamed the tug as the Horace.

In 2014, she was acquired by Heritage Marine Incorporated of Knife River, Minnesota. Where the tug was renamed as the Nancy J.

In 2020, the tug was acquired by the Sarter Marine Towing Company of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. Where she was renamed as Donald J. Sarter.

In 2022, she was acquired by the Great Lakes Towing Company of Cleveland, Ohio. Where the tug retained her name.

She is a twin screw tug, rated at 3,000 horsepower.
