Built in 1971, by Superior Boat Works Incorporated of Greenville, Mississippi (hull #114) as the Renee G. for the Alter Barge Line Incorporated of Wynne, Arkansas.
In 2001, the tug was acquired by Magnolia Marine Incorporated of Vicksburg, Mississippi. Where she was renamed as the Ana Louise.
Originally powered by two GM 16-567CE diesel engines, for a rated 3,800 horsepower. The tug was repowered with two, EMD 16-645E6A diesel engines. With Western RH 27-1774 reduction gears, at a ratio of 3.75:1. Turning two, Coolidge, 96(in) by 88(in), four bladed, fixed pitch propellers with flanking rudders. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 3,800 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 170kW, Caterpillar generator sets. The tug's capacities are 96,440 gallons of fuel, 1,826 gallons of lube oil, and 11,670 of water.
The towing equipment consists of two, 50 ton Bebee face winches.
