In 1989, Magnolia Marine Incorporated renamed the tug as the Dennis Ross.
Powered by two, Series II, Caterpillar 3512B diesel engines. With Haley RV1930 reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.45:1. Turning two, Avondale, 90(in) by 65(in), four bladed, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 3,000 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 125kW, Marathon generator sets. Driven by two, John Deere 6068TFM76 diesel engines. The tug's capacities are 54,091 gallons of fuel, 2,045 gallons of lube oil, and 6,200 gallons of water.
The towing equipment consists of two, 50 ton, Bebee face winches.
