JIM VICKERS

Built in 1971, by the Greenville Shipbuilding Corporation of Greenville, Mississippi (hull #34) as the Jim Vickers for the Vickers Towing Company Incorporated of Greenville, Mississippi.

In 1992, the tug was acquired by the Magnolia Marine Transport Company of Jackson, Mississippi. Where she was renamed as the Magnolia.

Powered by two, EMD 16-645-E2 diesel engines. With Western RH1774 reduction gears, at a ratio of 3.056:1. Turning two, Bollinger, 84(in) by 74(in, four bladed, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw towboat rated at 3,800 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 99kW, Marathon generator sets. Driven by two, John Deere 6068TFM76 diesel engines. The tug's capacities are 71,316 gallons of fuel, 2,018 gallons of lube oil, and 9,000 gallons of water.

The towing equipment consists of four, 50 ton BeBee face winches.
