Built in 1974, by Scully Brothers Boat Builders Incorporated of Stephensville, Louisiana (hull #33) as the Tchula for the W and M Transportation Company of Vicksburg, Mississippi.

In 1977, the tug was acquired by Flowers Transportation Incorporated of Greenville, Mississippi. Where she was renamed as the Dorothy Claire.

In 1981, she was acquired by the Anderson Petroleum Transportation Company of Houston, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1987, the tug was acquired by Sneed's Shipbuilding Incorporated of Orange, Texas. Where she retained her name.

In 1991, she was acquired by Greater Cincinnati Marine Service Incorporated of Newport, Kentucky. Where the tug was renamed as the Bryan C.

In 1996, the tug was acquired by the Timberland Marine Equipment Company of Mobile, Alabama. Where she was renamed as the Mitzi Lou.

In 2006, she was acquired by John W. Stone Oil Distributor LLC. of Gretna, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Stephanie Stone.

Powered by two, Caterpillar D379 diesel engines. With Caterpillar reduction gears, at a ratio of 3.95:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,700 horsepower.
