Built in 1980, by Modern Marine Power Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana as the Lady Ida for the Bruce Brothers Towing Company of Cut Off, Louisiana.

In 1993, the tug was acquired by Kellstone Incorporated of Cleveland, Ohio. Where she was renamed as the Frank Palladino Jr.

In 2005, she was acquired by the Laken Shipping Corporation of Cleveland, Ohio. Where the tug was renamed as the Sandusky.

In 2006, the tug was acquired by John W. Stone Oil Distributor LLC. of Gretna, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Stone Explorer.

Powered by two, Caterpillar 3512B diesel engines. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 3,000 horsepower.
