Built in 1976, by the Rayco Shipbuilders and Repairs Company of Bourg, Louisiana (hull #47) as the St. Jude for Stepper Towing Incorporated of Harvey, Louisiana.

In 2004, the tug was acquired by Clean Gulf Associates of Harvey, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Custom.

In 2005, she was acquired by John W. Stone Oil Distributor LLC. of Gretna, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2021, the tug was acquired by Teche Towing Incorporated of Berwick, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Pabst.

Repowered in 1989, she is driven by two GM 16V-71 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears at a ratio of 6.11:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,000 horsepower.
