Built in 1983, by Jeffboat Incorporated of Jeffersonville, Indiana (hull #81-2263) as Olympus for the Spartan Transportation Company of Cincinnati, Ohio.

In 1989, the tug was acquired by the Ingram Barge Company of Nashville, Tennessee. Where she was renamed as the Martha R. Ingram.

In 2004, the Ingram Barge Company renamed the tug as the Virginia Ingram.

Powered by two, GM 16-645E7C diesel engines. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 6,120 horsepower.
