VMC CHATTANOOGA

Built in 1978, by Serodino Incorporated of Guild, Tennessee (hull #32) as the Donny H. for the Dixie Sand and Gravel Company of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

In 1992, the tug was acquired by the Vulcan Materials Sand and Gravel Company of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Where she was renamed as the VMC Chattanooga.

In 1998, she was acquired by the Ingram Barge Company of Nashville, Tennessee. Where she was renamed as the Stephen P. Venable.

Repowered in 1985, she is driven by two Caterpillar 3508 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio 4.6:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,500 horsepower.
