Built in 1966, by Jeffboat Incorporated of Jeffersonville, Indiana (hull #1420) as the Jack D. Wofford for American Commercial Lines LLC. of Jeffersonville, Indiana.

In 2012, the tug was acquired by the Ingram Barge Company of Nashville, Tennessee. Where she retained her name and was operated by Inland Marine Service Incorporated of Hebron, Kentucky.

In 2017, she was acquired by the Whitetail Vessel Company LLC. of Paducah, Kentucky. Where the tug was renamed the Eric Haney. And the tug was operated by the Tennessee Valley Towing Company of Paducah, Kentucky.

Powered by two, Alco 16-251B diesel engines. With Lufkin reduction gears, at a ratio of 5:1. Turning two, fixed pitch propellers mounted in kort nozzles. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 5,000 horsepower.
