VMC DIXIE

Built in 1975, by Serodino Incorporated of Guild, Tennessee (hull #26) as the Beverly for the Dixie Sand and Gravel Company of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

In 1992, the tug was acquired by the Vulcan Materials Sand and Gravel Company of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Where she was renamed as the VMC Dixie.

In 1998, she was acquired by the Ingram Barge Company of Nashville, Tennessee. Where the tug was renamed as the Billy P.

Repowered in 1992, she is driven by two Caterpillar 3406 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.5:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 800 horsepower.
