GEORGE H. JACKSON

Built in 1910, by Globe Iron Works Incorporated of Cleveland, Ohio (hull #449) as the E.C. Dempsey for the Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company of Oak Brook, Illinois.

In 1910, the tug was chartered to the Kelley Island Lime and Transportation Company of Kelley's Island, Ohio. Where she retained her name.

In 1914, she was returned to the Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company of Oak Brook, Illinois. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1914, she was chartered to the Byrne Brothers Dredging and Engineering Company of Chicago, Illinois. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1945, the Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company renamed the tug as the George H. Jackson.

In 1963, she was acquired by the Nickerson Marine Towing Company of Tampa, Florida. Where the tug was renamed as the Gladiator.

In 1970, the tug was acquired by the McAllister Brothers Towing Company of New York, New York. Where she was renamed as the Barbara McAllister.

In 1989, the tug went out of documentation, her current and or final disposition is unknown. Repowered in 1963, and repowered in 1966. She was a single screw rated at 1,440 horsepower.
