Built in 1936, by Ira S. Bushey and Sons Incorporated of Brooklyn, New York (hull #458) as the Choctaw for Ira S. Bushey and Sons Incorporated of Brooklyn, New York.
In 1936, the tug was acquired by the Canal-Lakes Towing Company of New York, New York. Where she was renamed as the Calatco.
In 1940, the tug was acquired by the United States Navy. Where she was designated as the YN-43 (Tachee).
She was converted for naval service at the New York Navy Yard and placed into service on December 17th 1940 at New York Navy Yard. She was allocated to the 5th Naval District at Norfolk, Virginia.
On April 2nd 1941 she was reallocated to the 4th Naval District at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and redesignated as a Net Tender Tug YNT-11 (Tachee).
On April 10th 1943, the tug was allocated to the 1st Naval District at Newport, Rhode Island and redesignated a Harbor Tug Medium YTM-736 (Tachee) on July 7th, 1945.
On September 1st, 1946 she was placed out of service at Melville, Rhode Island and declared surplus to the needs of the Navy on November 8th, 1945.
She was struck from the Naval Register on December 30th, 1945 and was transferred to the United States Maritime Commission on April 4th, 1946, for disposal.
In 1956, the tug was acquired by the McAllister Brothers Towing Company of New York, New York. Where she was renamed as the Barbara McAllister.
In 1966, she was acquired by Marine Facilities Incorporated of Bayonne, New Jersey. Where the tug was renamed as the Jonathan B.
In 2014, the tug went out of documentation. Her current and or final disposition is unknown. She was a single screw tug, rated at 450 horsepower.
