Built in 1967, by Main Iron Works Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #191) as the Dixie Buccaneer for Dixie Carriers Incorporated of Houston, Texas.

In 1995, the tug was acquired by Baton Rouge Harbor Service Incorporated of The Groves, Texas. Where she was renamed as the Buffalo Girl.

In 2017, she was acquired by Modern American Recycling Services Incorporated of Gibson, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.

She is a twin screw tug, rated at 1,000 horsepower.
