Ice-strengthened and equipped with a heavy ice knife at the stem, gradual rake to the keel, and significantly reinforced structure using ABS Grade D plating in the ice belt, the tug will be able to assist with ice breaking operations on the Canal System as needed.
Powered by two, Tier III compliant, Caterpillar C9.3 diesel engines. Twin Disc MGX-5114C reduction gears, at a ratio of 3:1. Turning two, 38(in) by 34(in),fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 750 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 27kW Caterpillar C2.2 generator sets. The tug's capacities are 4,140 gallons of fuel and 350 gallons of water.
The tug's towing equipment consists of two Nabrico DF-156-10-6-M winches, on the bow.
