Built in 1998, by C and G Boatworks Incorporated of Mobile, Alabama (hull #38) as the Alexandra Moran for the Petroleum Transport Corporation of New Canaan, Connecticut. A subsidiary of the Moran Towing Corporation of New Canaan, Connecticut.

The tug was later sold, and renamed as the David E.

In 2010, she was acquired by the Stevens Towing Company Incorporated of Yonges Island, South Carolina. Where the tug was renamed as the Island Pilot.

In 2025, the tug was acquired by Riverbulk Transportation of Edenton, North Carolina. Where she was renamed River Pilot.

She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 2,000 horsepower.
