
Built in 1981, by the Service Machine Group of Amelia, Louisiana (hull #137) as the Brice Eserman for Eserman Offshore Service Incorporated of Golden Meadow, Louisiana.
In 1981, Eserman Offshore Service Incorporated renamed the tug as the Sea Crescent.
In 1989, the tug was acquired by the Stevens Towing Company Incorporated of Yonges Island, South Carolina. Where the tug retained her name.
In 2002, the tug was acquired by the Sun Towing Corporation of Berwick, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Sun Crescent.
In 2004, she was acquired by the Smith Marine Towing Corporation of Morgan City, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Smith Ranger.
In 2015, the tug was acquired by the Stevens Towing Company Incorporated of Yonges Island, South Carolina. Where she was renamed as the Sea Crescent.
She is a twin screw tug, rated at 1,800 horsepower.
