Built in 2024, by Steiner Shipyard Incorporated of Bayou LaBatre, Alabama (hull #1048) as the Mandy Whipple for Maritime Partners, LLC of Metairie, Louisiana.

Named for the wife of Maritime Partners cofounder and president Austin Sperry’s longtime friend, Larry Whipple.

In 2024, the tug was chartered to LabMar Inland, LLC, of New Orleans, Louisiana. Where she retained her name.

Powered by two Caterpillar 3508 diesel engines. With Reintjes 573L reduction gears at a ratio of 7.09:1. She is a twin screw towboat rated at 2,000 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 65kW, John Deere generator sets.

The towing equipment consists of two, Nabrico, 40 ton, electric winches mounted on the bow.

The tugs capacities are 24,760 gallons of fuel, 8,800 gallons of gray water, 4,396 gallons of waste oil, 212 gallons of hydraulic oil, 428 gallons of lube oil, 215 gallons of gear oil, and 13,824 gallons of potable water.
