Built in 1976, by the Dravo Corporation of Neville Island, Pennsylvania (hull #6613) as the Phoenix for McQuiston Marine Lines Incorporated of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

In 1978, the tug was acquired by Correo Incorporated of East Dubuque, Illinois. Where she was renamed as the Trojan Warrior. And, was operated by the Marquette Transportation Company Incorporated Cassville, Wisconsin.

In 1987, she was transferred to the Dravo Mechling Corporation of New Orleans, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1987, the tug was leased to the Capital Towing Corporation of Houston, Texas. Where she retained her name.

In 1988, she was acquired by National Marine Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1998, the tug was acquired by American Commercial Barge Line LLC. of Jeffersonville, Indiana. Where she retained her name.

Powered by two, Cummins QSK50 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 7:1, with kort nozzles. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 3,050 horsepower.
