Built in 1971, by F.B. Walker and Sons of Pascagoula, Mississippi (hull #175) as the Cherokee for the Indian Towing Company Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana.

In 1973, the tug was acquired by Tugboat Incorporated of Mobile, Alabama. Where she was renamed as the Big Miss.

In 1981, the tug was acquired by the Bisso Towboat Company Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Capt. Jos Bisso.

In 2014, she was acquired by Remolcadores Maritimos of Guatemala. Repowered in 1990, the tug was powered by two, GM 16-645E2 diesel engines. She was a twin screw tug, rated at 4,600 horsepower.
