MISTER PETE

Built in 1976, by Halter Marine Services Incorporated of Moss Point, Mississippi (hull #495) as the Mister Pete for the Jackson Marine Corporation of Houston, Texas.

The Jackson Marine Corporation was owned by the Halliburton Corporation of Houston, Texas. The company owned a total of ninety vessels. Consisting mainly of offshore tugs, and supply vessels. With some chemical transport and well stimulation vessels.

In 1985, Zapata Marine Service, Gulf Fleet Marine Incorporated, and Jackson Marine Services merged to form Zapata Gulf Marine Service Incorporated of Houston, Texas.

In 1986, Seahorse Marine Incorporated of Lockport, Louisiana merged into the Zapata Gulf Marine Company adding an additional ninety vessels to the fleet.

In 1992, Zapata Gulf Marine Incorporated merged with Tidewater Marine Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1999, the tug was acquired by Captain Arthur Fournier of the Portland Tugboat and Shipdocking Company of Portland, Maine. Where she was renamed as the Pete.

In 2001, the Portland Tugboat and Shipdocking Company was acquired by McAllister Towing and Transportation of New York, New York. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2007, she was acquired by the K-Sea Transportation Partnership Incorporated of East Brunswick, New Jersey. Where she was renamed as the Barents Sea.

In 2011, the K-Sea Transportation Partnership Incorporated was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2015, the tug was "laid up" at the Kirby Corporation's yard at Mariners Harbor in Staten Island, New York.

In 2016, she was acquired by the DonJon Marine Company of Hillside, New Jersey. Where the tug was renamed as the Atlantic Enterprise.

Powered by two, eighteen cylinder, Alco 16-251F diesel engines. with Lufkin reduction gears, at a ratio of 5.95:1. Turning two, 144(in) by, 105(in), four bladed ,stainless steel, propellers. For a rated 6,480 horsepower.

Her towing gear consists of an INTERcon, double drum, side-by-side, towing winch. Outfitted with 4,000(ft) of 2.25(in) towing wire.
