Built in 1970, by Bludworth Shipyard of Corpus Christi, Texas (hull #71) as the Mister Richard for the Jackson Marine Corporation of Houston, Texas.
The Jackson Marine Corporation was owned by the Halliburton Corporation of Houston, Texas. The company owned a total of ninety vessels. Consisting mainly of offshore tugs, and supply vessels. With some chemical transport and well stimulation vessels.
In 1985, Zapata Marine Service, Gulf Fleet Marine Incorporated, and Jackson Marine Services merged to form Zapata Gulf Marine Service Incorporated of Houston, Texas.
In 1986, Seahorse Marine Incorporated of Lockport, Louisiana merged into the Zapata Gulf Marine Company adding an additional ninety vessels to the fleet.
In 1988, the tug was acquired by the Hale Container Transport Lines of Baltimore, Maryland. Where she was renamed as the Ashley Hale.
In 1992, the Hale Container Transport Lines were dissolved, and the company's assets were sold.
In 1992, the tug was acquired by the Allied Transportation Company of Norfolk, Virginia. Where she was renamed as the Falcon.
In 2012, the Allied Transportation Company was acquired the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.
In 2014, the tug was acquired by the Dann Marine Towing Company of Chesapeake City, Maryland. Where she was renamed as the Carolina Coast.
In 2022, she was phazed out of active service and was "laid up" at Chesapeake City, Maryland.
Powered by two, twelve cylinder, Alco 251C, turbo diesel engines. With Falk 30 MRVC A35-G reduction gears, at a ratio of 6:7:1. Turning two, 132(in) by 95(in), fixed pitch, stainless steel, propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 4,400 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 99kW, Detroit Diesel, 8V-71N generator sets. The tug's capacities are 72,900 gallons of fuel, 1,000 gallons of lube oil, 1,795 gallons of waste oil, and 4,000 gallons of potable water.
The towing equipment consists of a Skagit, double drum, towing winch. Outfitted with 2,700(ft) of 2(in) towing wire.
