Built in 2007, by Sea Boats Incorporated of Fall River, Massachusetts (hull #7) as the Scott C. for Sea Boats Incorporated of Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
In 2011, the tug was acquired by the K-Sea Transportation Partnership of East Brunswick, New Jersey. Where she was renamed as the Weddell Sea.
In 2011, the K-Sea Transportation Partnership was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.
In 2023, she was phased out of active service, and was "laid up" at Staten Island, New York.
Powered by two, Caterpillar 3516B diesel engines. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 4,800 horsepower.
The tug's capacities are 102,227 gallons of fuel, 700 gallons of lube oil, 57,859 gallons of ballast, and 7,480 gallons of potable water.
