Built in 1987, in Honolulu, Hawaii as the Nahiku. For the Smith Maritime Company Honolulu, Hawaii. Which was a part of the Hawaiian Interisland Towing Company of Honolulu, Hawaii.

In 2007, the Smith Maritime Company was acquired by the K-Sea Transportation Partnership Incorporated of East Brunswick, New Jersey. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2011, she went out of documentation. Her current, and or final disposition is unknown. She was a twin screw tug, rated at 750 horsepower.
