Built in 1997, by Marco Seattle Incorporated of Seattle, Washington (hull #473) as the Namahoe for the Smith Maritime Company of Honolulu, Hawaii. A division of the Hawaiian Interisland Towing Company of Honolulu, Hawaii.

In 2007, the Smith Maritime Company was acquired by the K-Sea Transportation Partnership Incorporated of East Brunswick, New Jersey. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2011, the K-Sea Transportation Partnership Incorporated was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2021, she was acquired by McAllister Towing and Transportation of New York, New York. Where the tug was renamed as the Alicia F. McAllister.

Powered by two, Caterpillar 3516B diesel engines. With Ulstein 1650H azimuthing z-drives. She is a twin screw tractor tug, rated 4,400 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 99kW, John Deere 4045AFM85 diesel engines. The tug's capacites are 100,000 gallons of fuel, and 7,000 gallons of potable water.

The towing equipment consists of a single drum, Markey DYS-42 bow winch. Outfitted with 400(ft) of 2 5/8(in) Saturn 12 HMPE line. And a Markey TYS-32 stern winch, outfitted with 2,200(ft) of 2(in) towing wire.
