Built in 1950, by Levingston Shipbuilding of Orange, Texas (hull# 459) as the Magnolia for the Magnolia Petroleum Company of Corsicana, Texas.
The company was founded on April 24th, 1911. As a consolidation of several earlier companies that included the Standard Oil Company of New York (Socony). The company later exchanged all of the stock in the Magnolia Petroleum Company in December of 1925. Although it continued to operate as an affiliate of the Socony Oil Company.
In 1959, the Magnolia Petroleum Company was fully incorporated into the Mobil Oil division of the Socony Oil Company.
In 1959, the tug was acquired by the Socony Vacum Oil Company of New York, New York. Where she was renamed as the Socony 12.
In 1966, the Socony Vacum Oil Company became the Mobil Oil Corporation of New York, New York. Where the tug was renamed as the Mobil 12.
In 1972, she acquired by the Reichert Towing Line of Brooklyn, New York. Where she was renamed the Leo F. Reichert.
In 1979, the tug was acquired by the Gowanus Towing Company of New York, New York. Where she was renamed as the Victorious.
In 1983, the tug was acquired by McAllister Brothers Towing Company of New York, New York. Where she was renamed as the Mary L. McAllister.
In 1990, she was scrapped. The tug was single screw, rated at 1,200 horsepower.
