Built in 1958, by Matton Shipyard Company Incorporated of Cohoes, New York (hull #325) as the John E. Matton for the Matton Shipyard Company Incorporated of Cohes, New York.
The tug was later chartered to the Morania Oil Tanker Corporation of Staten Island, New York. Where she was renamed as the Morania No. 12.
She was then acquired by the Reinauer Transportation Company of Staten Island, New York. Where she was renamed as the Cissi Reinauer.
In 2005, the tug was acquired by the R.J. Casho Marine Towing Company Incorporated of Wilmington, Delaware. Where she was renamed as the Cissi.
In 2007, the tug was acquired by the Thornton Brothers Towing and Transportation Company of Allendale, New Jersey. Where she was renamed the Thornton Bros.
In 2008, she was acquired by the Clearwater Marine Towing Company of Wallingford, Pennsylvania. Where she was renamed the Mischief.
In 2011, the tug was acquired by the Thornton Brothers Towing and Transportation Company of Allendale, New Jersey. Where she was renamed the Thornton Bros.
In 2014, she was scrapped at Tottenville, New York. Originally powered by a single, Cleveland 12-498 diesel engine. The tug was later repowered with a single, 16-567 EMD diesel engine. With a single, Falk 2140 reduction gear. She was a single screw tug, rated at 1,600 horsepower.
