Built 1919, by Bethlehem Steel Company of Elizabeth, New Jersey (hull #2122) as the ATF 80-(Yaqui) for the United States Navy.

A United States Navy ocean tug, the initial order was canceled. The unfinished tug was converted to a merchant vessel.

In 1919, the tug was transferred to the United States Shipping Board. Where she was designated as the Ballenas (ussb #1173).

In 1942, she was acquired by the Moran Towing Company of New York, New York. Where she was renamed as the Kevin Moran.

In 1942, she was acquired by the United States Army. Where she was designated as the LT-348 (Cabrilla).

In 1949, the United States Army renamed the tug as the Cabrilla.

In 1967 the tug foundered.
