Built in 1969, by Diamond Manufacturing Incorporated of Savannah, Georgia (hull #311) as the Capt. Tom for Gallup Marine Incorporated of Wakefield, Rhode Island.
In 1997, the tug was acquired by Salt Pond Marine Railway Incorporated of Wakefield, Rhode Island. Where she retained her name.
In 2002, the tug was acquired by Hunt Marine Incorporated of Narragansett, Rhode Island. Where she was renamed as the Victoria Rose Hunt.
In 2006, The tug later sank in Massachusetts Bay while handling anchors. Acushnet Marine Incorporated of Boston, Massachusetts acquired the tug while she was on the bottom. Where she retained her name.
In 2007, the tug was acquired by Greater New York Marine Transportation Incorporated of Syossett, New York. Where she was renamed as the Capt. Tom.
In 2010, she was acquired by the H and L Towing Company of Port Jefferson, New York. Where she was renamed as the Manhasset Bay.
She is a twin screw tug, rated at 380 horsepower.
