Built in 1974, by Master Marine, Incorporated of Bayou La Batre, Alabama as the Milton for the Lapeyrouse Marine Company of Mobile, Alabama.

The tug was later acquired by the Madison Coal and Supply Company of Charleston, West Virginia. Where she again, retained her name.

In 2010, the Madison Coal and Supply Company become Amherst Madison Incorporated of Charleston, West Virginia. Where the tug retained her name.

Repowered in 2006. She is driven by two Cummins N14-M diesel engines. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 800 horsepower.
