Built in 1980, by the Thrift Shipbuilding and Repair Company of Sulfur, Louisiana as the Dallas for Double Eagle Marine Incorporated of New Iberia, Louisiana.

In 2004, the tug was acquired by the the Delta Towing Company of Houma, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Delta Heron.

In 2011, she was acquired by the Crosby Marine Transportation Company of Golden Meadow, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2014, the Crosby Marine Transportation Company renamed the tug as the Jason Joseph.

Powered by two, Cummins KTA-19M3 diesel engines. With Twin Disc 5222 reduction gears, at a ratio of 6:1. Turning two, 60(in) by 44(in), fixed pitch, stainless steel propellers. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,800 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 45kW generator sets. Driven by two, John Deere 4045TF290 generator sets. The tug's capacities are 12,000 gallon fuel capacity, 130 gallons of lube oil, and 9,000 gallons of water.
