Built in 1980, by the Lemay Supply and Barge Company of Greensville, Mississippi (hull #337) as the Martha for the Tex-La Transportation Company of Wilmington, Delaware.

In 1994, the tug was acquired by Chemserve Marine Incorporated of Wilmington, North Carolina. Where the tug was renamed as the Chemvoy.

In 2003, she was acquired by the Chatham-Colonial Towing Company of Savannah, Georgia. Where the tug was renamed as the Gale.

In 2013, the Chatham-Colonial Towing Company was acquired by the Vane Brothers Company of Baltimore, Maryland. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2020, she was acquired by the McLean Contracting Company Glen Burnie, Maryland. Where the tug retained her name.

She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,400 horsepower.
